SpeakEasy and Easy Read Books
Following on from the very successful SpeakEasy course in Blackrock Education Centre, DLR Libraries are delighted to launch the new “Easy Read” range of supplementary books and other materials which are now available in Deansgrange Library.
SpeakEasy and the Easy Read range of books are aimed at parents of children with extra support needs. They are designed to provide parents with the information, confidence and skills to talk about growing up, relationships and sexuality to their children, teenagers and young adults with intellectual disabilities.The Easy Read book collection additionally covers a range of other topics in relation to growing up with special needs.
The SpeakEasy course is a joint initiative of the Irish Family Planning Association and RUA (St. John of God Hospitaller Ministries).
The Easy Read book collection is a joint initiative of Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and RUA (St. John of God Hospitaller Ministries) and was launched in Deansgrange Library on 11th December 2013.
